2-Story Cabin Remodel
An Outdated Home Needs an Update
It wasn’t long ago when one of our clients was in need of a whole home remodel of his 2-story cabin. Not only was the home outdated, but every room was tight and small. They were also having issues with their front entry being too tight.
A Design-Build Solution Within Budget
When the homeowner reached out to Action Builders, the main thing they requested was to stay within budget. Thanks to our design-build structure, that was something we were easily able to do, even though it was looking like we were going to be doing an entire home remodeling plan. After walking through the house, we sat down with our clients and drew up a few design options for them based on their goals. Once we settled on a design, we took it from there.
An Affordable and Beautiful 2-Story Home Remodeling Service for the Win
Action Builders was able to complete the multi-story renovation in only 4 months — much faster than their competitors. Action Builders focused on the main things that add value to a home while designing and remodeling:
Deck
We added a back deck with a roof and cable type railings
Bathroom Remodel
In the first-floor bath, we installed a shower in place of the tub.
Master Bedroom & Mud Room
On the first floor, there were two small bedrooms that were changed into a larger master bedroom and a laundry/mudroom.
Insulation & Windows
Since the house was gutted, we were able to use spray insulation for a greater R-value along with new vinyl windows.
Kitchen
The main wall between the kitchen and family room was removed for a larger kitchen/great room look. We installed new hardwood floors throughout and new hickory cabinets.
Bedrooms
We installed a 2nd-floor dormer off the back and into the porch roof a few feet. This allowed us to get three good size bedrooms on the 2nd floor with a large bathroom that included a tub and double sink.
Front Entry
We also added a 4’ front entry to allow people to walk in without bumping into the steps.
