Location: Mt. Lebanon
Budget: $50,000
Renovations: Kitchen, Flooring
The Problems
These homeowners started with a very small kitchen that included a strange, old telephone nook where custom pantry cabinets had previously been installed. They considered doing a small addition to enlarge the kitchen space, but then dropped that idea based on budget. Instead we chose to get creative.
The Solutions
We opened up the wall between the kitchen and installed a down-draft range so it wouldn’t break up the view. Next, we added cabinetry in the dining room in the form of a dry bar area with cabinets flanking the seating area. By removing an additional wall, they had even more storage space than before the renovation. Last, we refinished the wood floors in the entire house.
These renovations proved that great things can be done with small spaces!
