Mid Century Kitchen Remodel in Mt. Lebanon

Location: Mount Lebanon
Renovations: Kitchen Remodel

A Mt. Lebanon homeowner was in dire need of a renovation for her small, dated kitchen with an inefficient layout. Additionally, she wanted the style refreshed to match the rest of her home’s mid-century modern architecture. She chose to work with Action Builders due to our ability to create a flush ceiling and to remove a structural wall for a more open kitchen space. We were honored to be trusted with the remodeling project for this very special period home that pays tribute to mid-century architecture.

The project took place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which created some specific challenges.

Consistent style and a functional kitchen layout

Per our usual process, our team undertook a thorough planning process before hammering the first nail. This included creating a basic layout for the client, which she was able to visualize using our 3-D drawing which emphasized details such as open shelves and a corner-wrapped peninsula.

Despite the difficulty of completing the project during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Action Builders team was able to help the homeowner choose her finishes and surfaces by delivering samples to her home and initiating Zoom calls with the showroom.

To create the functional kitchen and open layout the client desired, we removed a structural wall. Our designer helped the homeowner select the colors, materials, and hardware to match this classic design tradition. The completed project included an eye-catching backsplash and a cement-look LVT floor.
